Hard Hat Tour
Take a hard hat tour of Corinthian Hall, the more than 100-year-old home of lumber baron Robert A. Long and his family. Tours are free and will be held at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Kansas City Museum, 3218 Gladstone Blvd., Kansas City, Mo.

Pendleton Heights Swing Night
Pendleton Heights is hosting beginner swing dancing lessons at Don Bosco Center’s gym, Independence Avenue and Garfield. No partner is needed and class will last 45 minutes to an hour. All are invited to attend. Cost is $5. Swing lessons will be held the third Wednesday of every month.

Mattie Rhodes Community Center, 148 N. Topping, will host La Chalupa Farmer’s Market every Thursday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Mattie Rhodes parking lot. EBT/SNAP cards will get extra dollars for local produce.

Join Knights of Columbus Council 4613 for a night of karaoke, dance and music from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Parish Hall, 3208 Lexington, Kansas City, Mo. Food will be available for purchase.

Story Time and Craft
Join North-East Public Library for its weekly story time and craft at 10:30 a.m. This story time group promotes literacy in children with the participation of caring family members. This week’s craft is a circus theme.

LISC Quality of Life Planning Session
LISC will host a quality of life planning session for residents of Chouteau Courts, Independence Plaza, Paseo West and Pendleton Heights neighborhoods from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Don Bosco Community Center, 531 Garfield, Kansas City, Mo. This is the final meeting in a months-long process coordinated by LISC. The quality of life planning session will be a forum for residents and neighborhood stakeholders to discuss their priorities and goals, collectively determine the areas of concern, and reach a consensus on the best strategies to use in addressing those concerns. The goal of the session is to produce a Quality of Life Plan that can be used to move the neighborhood forward and focus on issues that matter most to residents.

FitNFine
Learn about healthy habits to help you maintain a healthy weight during North-East Public Library’s FitNFine. Class begins at 1:30 p.m. at the library.

Good as New Sale for Newhouse
Newhouse, a women’s shelter in Kansas City, will host a Good as New Sale  from noon to 3 p.m. at Cronin’s, 12227 W. 87th Pkwy, Lenexa, Kan. Enjoy discounted cocktails while shopping for gently used designer handbags, clothing, shoes and accessories. Most items priced at $20 or less! Proceeds benefit the shelter.

Health Fair
North-East Public Library will host a Mini-Health Fair beginning at noon. Free services will include: Ask-A-Doctor, Glucose Screening, Glaucoma Screening, Children Vision Screenings (6 months to 6 years) and Posture Balance Screening. Services will be provided by Cleveland Chiropractic College, Missouri Lions Club and Truman Medical Center. All ages are welcome.

Neighborhood Food Celebration
The Salvation Army will host a Neighborhood Food Celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 3103 E. 9th St., Kansas City, Mo. The free event will include food, games, prizes, music and much more! For more information, call (816) 483-8484.

Northeast Coffee Club Tea Tasting
Northeast Coffee Club is taking a break from coffee this week and will host a tea tasting from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at 3204 Windsor, Kansas City, Mo. Keith Buchanan, owner of the Teahouse and Coffeepot in Midtown, will have a sampling of his teas and will give a short informational talk on the art of tea. Space is limited.
