Urban Neighborhood Initiative
Come share your views on the Urban Neighborhood Initiative, one of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce’s Big 5 Ideas, during the public meeting. Interested east side residents and stakeholders are encouraged to attend to identify opportunities to strengthen the community. The meeting will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Penn Valley Community College – Education Center, 3201 Southwest Trafficway, Kansas City, Mo. Literacy Kansas City Volunteer Orientation
Learn how to become a literacy tutor and serve Historic Northeast by attending a presentation addressing adult literacy causes and effects at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3. Also, learn more about the program that trains and provides volunteer tutors to work one-on-one with adult literacy students throughout the greater metro area. The class will be held at the American Red Cross building, 211 W. Armour Blvd., Kansas City, Mo.
