Kiwanis Chili Day
Check out the Kiwanis Chili Day at the Salvation Army building, 6618 E. Truman Rd., Kansas City, Mo. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and cost includes all you can eat chili, along with a drink and dessert. Take-out is available, but does not include drinks. Tickets are $7. One hundred percent of the proceeds, less the cost of food and materials, will be donated area non-profit organizations in the Northeast area.

Mattie Rhodes Center fundraising luncheon
Mattie Rhodes Center will hold a fundraising luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Count Basie Ballroom at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown Hotel, 200 W. 12th St., Kansas City, Mo., with the theme “Cultivating Our Future.” There will be several guest speakers and the focus will be on youth development. There is no cost to attend the luncheon, but attendees are asked to consider making a donation. Contributions at the event will be matched dollar for dollar by community funds. All proceeds will be used to support programs at Mattie Rhodes.

KCPS Repurposing Meeting for Thacher
Do you have an interest in what will happen to a closed school site near you? If so, learn about the reuse assessments that have been completed and come share your feedback. Indian Mound Neighborhood Association will hold its monthly meeting in conjunction with the Thacher Repurposing meeting at North-East Public Library. Indian Mound will host its regular monthly meeting from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., following the Thacher meeting. State Rep. John Rizzo will be the guest speaker.

Eleos Coffee Ribbon Cutting
Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting for Eleos Coffee, 3401 Independence Ave., at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22.
Following the ribbon cutting, the chamber will hold its monthly meeting from noon to 1 p.m. Kansas City Planning Department representatives will present updates on the Truman Area Plaza Plan.
