Popsicle Parade
Decorate your bikes, trikes, wagons, wheelchairs and strollers for the annual Popsicle Parade at Budd Park located on St. John Avenue and Denver in Historic Northeast. To decorate your set of wheels, meet at the park’s north playground at 6 p.m. Northeast Arts will provide most of the decorations, but you’re welcome to bring your own. Parade starts at 7 p.m. at the north playground and prizes will be given for winning floats. Participants can stroll through the park and to the swimming pool for free popsicles. The parade is made possible by Northeast Arts KC and NorthEastminster Presbyterian Church.
Hard hat tours
Take a hard hat tour of Corinthian Hall, the more than 100-year-old home of lumber baron Robert A. Long and his family. Kansas City Museum, 3218 Gladstone Blvd., Kansas City, Mo., will host the free tours on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

La Chalupa Farmers Market
Mattie Rhodes’ La Chalupa Farmers Market will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and features locally grown produce. The farmers market will be held every Thursday at the Mattie Rhodes Center, 148 N. Topping Ave., Kansas City, Mo. SNAP/EBT cards will be accepted.

Huge Rummage Sale
Check out VFW Post 9997s “Huge Rummage Sale” from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 25 through Aug. 27. The sale will be held at the VFW located at Wilson Road and Ewing. On Saturday, Aug. 27, attendees can also check out the sweet treats at the bake sale.

Activities will include health exhibits, free health screenings, health discussion groups, a food giveaway, the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department’s police cars, mounted patrol, and bicycle patrols, along with the Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department’s fire engine truck.

Hard Hat Happy Hour
Check out the Kansas City Museum’s Hard Hat Happy Hour from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 1. Happy Hour will be held at the museum, 3218 Gladstone Blvd., Kansas City, Mo., and is part of Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce’s special after hours events. Museum Days at the Library
Youngsters can learn all about quilts, like how the keep us warm and can be used to decorate homes, during the Friday, Sept. 2, Museum Days at the Library at 10:30 a.m. Museum Days will be held at North-East Public Library and are open to ages three and up.
First Sunday Family Fun Day
Families will be challenging each other to create artistic masterpieces as they discover the art of printmaking at First Sunday Family Fun Day on Sunday, Sept. 4, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Kansas City Museum. Families use printmaking techniques using fruits and vegetables, as well as blocking printing and stamping to create wonderful pieces of art to take home. You can also assemble your own journal and decorate it with stamps or create a collage using flower stencils. All are invited to attend this free event.
