Hard hat tours
Take a hard hat tour of Corinthian Hall, the more than 100-year-old home of lumber baron Robert A. Long and his family.  Kansas City Museum, 3218 Gladstone Blvd., Kansas City, Mo., will host the free tours on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Chamber After Hours
Check out the Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce’s last after hours event for 2011. Celebrate the holidays at AJ’s Bar, 2618 Independence Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Chamber members and prospective chamber members are invited. Join in for food, cheer, drawings, prizes and more.

Million Dollar Movie
Each month, North-East Public Library, 6000 Wilson Rd., presents some of the best in class cinema free of charge. Refreshments will be provided. Movie starts at 10 a.m.

Story Time and Craft
Check out North-East Public Library’s story time and craft, which begins at 10:30 a.m. at the library. This story time group promotes literacy in children with the participation of caring family members.

Whoville Holidays
Who’s of all ages are encouraged to bring their camera to get a picture with the Grinch in the warmth of Cindy Lou Who’s home at City Market’s Whoville Holidays at the City Market main entrance, 429 Walnut. Little Who’s will enjoy the Whoville Holiday children’s activity area where they can make Whoville themed tree ornaments, a Grinch mask and more! Whoville Holidays is a free event, but donations (canned goods for Harvesters or a a new, unwrapped toy for the Salvation Army) are encouraged for the “Help A Who” campaign.

Kansas City Museum’s Fairy Princess
The Fairy Princess will greet children at the Kansas City Museum from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  in the Carriage House, 3218 Gladstone Blvd. Cost is $5 per child. Also, check out the Fairy Princess Boutique.

Shout the Good News! Cantata
NorthEastminster Presbyterian will host the Shout the Good News! Cantata at 10:30 a.m. at the church,  301 Van Brunt Blvd., Kansas City, Mo. All are welcome to attend.

Indian Mound Potluck Dinner & Meeting
Indian Mound Neighborhood Association will host its December meeting at 6 p.m. at Mattie Rhodes Center, 148 N. Topping. The meeting will consist of a holiday potluck dinner, so bring your favorite dish to share!

Lykins Neighborhood Holiday Party
Lykins Neighborhood Association will hold its December meeting at 7 p.m. in the basement of the ROCK Church, 934 Norton Ave. The meeting will be a holiday potluck party. Meat will be provided. All Lykins neighborhood residents are welcome to attend.
