One criminal is off the streets of Indian Mound, thanks to East Patrol and the cooperation of area residents.

Brian L. Redmon, 17, has been a suspect in several burglaries and thefts, including thefts at New Hope Church at St. John and Denver and Calvary Temple on St. John, as well as being a suspect in regards to a stolen wallet and cell pone from a Catholic Charities worker at Holy Cross Senior Center.

A former Northeast resident, who was a victim, identified Redmon in a photo lineup and Redmon was taken into custody.

Redmon has been charged with two burglaries with a secured bond set at $15,000, Sgt. Keith Ericsson of East Property Crimes Unit said via email Nov. 4.

“This is an unusually high bond for someone with such a short record. There’s always a chance that he can be released on a signature bond in the near future, but let’s hope that doesn’t happen anytime soon.” Ericsson said. “We have other cases that he admitted to, including another burglary and stealing. Those cases will be handled separately, so there’s more to come.

“Also, he’s been running around with some other juveniles who we need to identify. If anyone has info, please pass it along.”

If you or someone you know has been a victim of Redmon, please call Sgt. Keith Ericsson, (816) 234-5535.
