That little Elmer Gantry moment was part of the testimony offered in favor of lifting the density requirements. So, yet another liquor store could open on the site of the old Git-n-Go at 5402 Winner Rd.
Save the theatrics for the pulpit cuz this ol’ hound ain’t buyin it. Hopefully this week’s public testimony period at city hall will be the last we hear of this ridiculous proposal. Note to those elected officials and former Northeast hot-shots still pushing this rock up the hill — planting a liquor store across the street from the projects does not qualify as “economic development.” It does, however, qualify as a horrible idea that shouldn’t have been considered.
