Looking for a way to keep your child academically engaged during the summer? Would you like for your child to be provided with two meals daily, free of charge? This summer, Kansas City Public Schools’ academy will offer breakfast and lunch daily for students at ten of its school locations.
Starting June 5, the KCPS Summer Academy will provide summer learning opportunities for K-12 students. The hours for its Elementary School Programming are between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Hours for the High School Programming fall between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Outside of academics, a key feature of the Summer Academy is that all students are provided with breakfast and lunch. Children can take part in meals without being enrolled in Summer Academy or by signing up ahead of time. School ID is not needed; the only requirement is that those receiving meals are under 18 years old.
Students in elementary school are provided breakfast between 9:30 and 10 a.m. and lunch between 11:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.
Students in high school receive breakfast between 7:50 and 8:15 a.m. and lunch between 11:39 and 1:19 p.m.
All 10 KCPS Summer Academies are offering breakfast and lunch to students.
