Community crime meetings
Community members are continuing to meet every Wednesday at noon at the North-East Public Library, 6000 Wilson Rd. The group discusses neighborhood safety concerns and forwards the list to the police department. All are welcome.

 

Hard hat tours
Take a hard hat tour of Corinthian Hall, the more than 100-year-old home of lumber baron Robert A. Long and his family. Kansas City Museum, 3218 Gladstone Blvd., Kansas City, Mo., will host the free tours on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

La Chalupa Farmers Market
Mattie Rhodes’ La Chalupa Farmers Market will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will feature locally grown produce. The farmers market will be held every Thursday at the Mattie Rhodes Center, 148 N. Topping Ave., Kansas City, Mo. SNAP/EBT cards will be accepted.

Northeast Farmers Market
Don Bosco Centers has launched the Northeast Farmers Market, which features fresh fruits and vegetables grown by New Roots for Refugees Farmers and youth from the Don Bosco Youth Development Center. Don Bosco will host the farmers market every Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside of its former charter high school at Independence Avenue and Garfield. SNAP/Debit cards will be accepted.

Long History Trolley Tour
Discover Robert A. Long’s Kansas City legacy with Jackson County Historical Society’s archivist David Jackson. Hop on a trolley to tour Long’s famous home, Corinthian Hall; the R.A. Long Building (now UMB Bank) at 10th and Grand and see the board room where Long managed his lumber empire; visit Kansas City Southern and more. Tickets are $25 or $20 for Kansas City Museum Friends members. Cost includes lunch and all ages are welcome. Two tours are available: 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. & 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Meet at Kansas City Museum, 3218 Gladstone Blvd., Kansas City, Mo.

History Walk and Talk Tour
Explore the Pendleton Heights neighborhood with Northeast resident David Remley. See beautiful Victorian homes and views of Cliff Drive and Kessler Park. Tickets are $5 per person or $15 for groups of four. The tour will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Meet at the Tiffany Mansion, 100 Garfield, Kansas City, Mo.

Salvation Army summer youth programs
