If you’ve noticed a flurry of activity at the Snyder’s Grocery store site lately, you’re not seeing things. Renovation work is in the final stages and product is being put on the shelves in preparation of a re-opening.

“It’s been a long time coming,” said Snyder’s General Manager Jenelle James, who’s overseen almost every phase of the reconstruction since last October’s tragic fire. “We’ll be almost totally new from the ground up.”

New shelving and fixtures, new coolers, a new customer service booth and state of the art cash registers are just a few of the new amenities inside the new Snyder’s. James indicated that the store could open as soon as May 4 if all of the grocery planets aligned. Tentatively, a Memorial Day weekend grand re-opening celebration is scheduled.
