KANSAS CITY, Missouri — The U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels return to town when the Kansas City Aviation Expo and Air Show returns to the Wheeler Downtown Airport at the end of August.

On Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 22 and Aug. 23, flying side-by-side, as little as 18 inches apart, maneuvered by some of the military’s finest pilots, the Blue Angels will lead one of the most impressive performer fields in the airshow’s storied history. Gates open at 9 a.m. each day.

Featured along with the Blue Angels jet teams will be the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team, and aerial performers including Sean Tucker, Mike Goulian, Jacquie B., Trojan Phlyers. Set-up on a quarter-mile of the tarmac at the Wheeler Downtown Airport will be static and interactive displays, photo opportunities, a Kids Zone, food and other refreshments. Attendees will also be able to explore the Rise Above Exhibit, celebrating the courage of the Tuskegee Airmen and featuring a P-51C Mustang.

The Kansas City Aviation Expo and Air Show is produced by, and benefits, the not-for-profit Mid-America Youth Aviation Association, which provides educational aviation and aeronautical opportunities for area youth. Adult tickets to the 2015 Aviation Expo and Air Show start at $17 per day in advance and are available online at www.kcairshow.com. Children ages 12-years-old receive free general admission. Active duty military personnel with current military ID will be admitted free on Sunday, Aug. 23 between 9 a.m. and noon.
