Crews are busy with renovations at Kansas City’s downtown police headquarters. Renovations are being funded through the Public Safety Sales Tax. Building deficiencies KCPD listed include the age of the building, HVAC issues, plumbing problems, an elevator system in constant need of repair and non-ADA compliant. In addition, the first, second, third, seventh and eighth floors have never been renovated. The building was built in 1938, and renovations are expected to be completed by the fall of 2014.
