Budd Park will be filled with activities Saturday, April 28, in celebration of Dia del Niños (Children’s Day).

More than 20 government and non-government agencies have partnered together to host the Bike Safety Rodeo, Health and Financial Fair, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the park. Registration for the bike safety rodeo begins at 10 a.m.

Children registered for the bike rodeo will learn the ins and outs of bicycle safety and the first 250 children to register will receive free bicycle helmets and T-shirts. New and refurbished bikes will also be raffled and loaner bikes will be available.

Other activities geared toward children will include a clown, moon walks, aerobics demonstration and a DJ.

A number of local organizations will be on hand to teach attendees about the importance of health screenings and how to lead healthier lifestyles. Health-geared organizations will include the Mattie Rhodes Center, Kansas City University of Preventive Medicine and Public Health, the Truman Medical Center, Guadalupe Centers, among other organizations.

Attendees will also learn how to make better financial decisions, how to protect themselves from identity theft and other financial tips. Organizations providing financial information will include Wells Fargo, Central Bank, Holy Rosary Credit Union, US Bank, Brotherhood Bank, among others.

All are encouraged to attend this free, family-friendly event at Budd Park, Brighton and St. John Avenue.
