On the 23rd anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks on our nation, Kansas City will pay tribute with its First Responder’s Memorial at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery (7601 Blue Ridge Blvd).
This annual remembrance ceremony will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m., with guests including accompaniment from the American Legion Band and speakers including Mayor Quinton Kansas City Police Chief, Stacy Graves and Kansas City Assistant Fire Chief, John Baker.
Partners in this commemoration include the American Legion District Five, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) District Five and Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, among others.
For those unable to attend in-person, a livestream will also be available on the Muehlebach Funeral Care’s Facebook page, according to a social media post from Mount Olivet.
