On this week’s episode of the Northeast Newscast we’re getting to know the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) East Patrol Zone’s newest social services specialist. Kevin Wilson grew up in Wyandotte County, and as a Black youth had negative interactions with police. A series of experiences lead him to pursue social work, and then apply for the police academy. Now, he uses those skills to create positive interactions with the community.
