In recent months, the U.S. has seen its share of active shooter situations.

To help area residents know how to respond in the event of an active shooter, the Safety and Health Council of Western Missouri and Kansas is hosting an informational session at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at the Regional Police Training Academy, 6885 NE Pleasant Valley Rd., Kansas City, Mo. Titled, “What to do in an active shooter event,” the informational session is expected to last one to two hours.

Sergeant William Lowe of the Missouri State Highway Patrol will give the presentation. A free continental breakfast will be provided.
