The Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and Independence Avenue CID are ready to welcome the new year. This year, the guests of honor were First District Jackson County Legislator Scott Burnett, who has served since 1998, and County Administrator and former Kansas City, Missouri City Manager Troy Schulte.

Local artists Hector Casanova, AJ Hoyt, Zac Laman, Bassim Sabawi, Margarita Friedman, Heather Inez-Beniot, and The Tipsy Red Fox’s Dimitri Pink displayed their work. The Chamber, active since 1994, and the CID, which was originally chartered in 2012, touch many aspects of life in Historic Northeast Kansas City. The staff reflected on the maintenance and progress they have made on Independence Avenue and beyond during the past year, and shared their vision for the future.
