KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Kansas City police officers foiled an attempted break-in at a Northeast business early Tuesday morning.

At around 2:40 a.m., two officers observed suspicious activity outside the Rent-A-Center, 5902 Wilson Ave. The officers noted three males were observed looking into the business and putting t-shirts over their faces, “as if they were attempting to hide their identity.”

When the officers saw the three men exit the business, the three ran east towards White Avenue. After a brief foot chase, officers apprehended two of the suspects near the business. The third suspect jumped into a silver Jeep Liberty and attempted to flee, but was soon, also, apprehended after crashing his car.

Police say nothing was stolen from the store. Charges are pending against the three men. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
