KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The Kansas City Board of Election Commissioners (KCEB) has issued a reminder to voters ahead of the August 2nd election.

The August 2nd election will take place between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. The residents of the Northeast will be able to vote for their new: U.S. Senator, Missouri Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, State Treasurer, Attorney General, U.S. Representative (District 5), State Senator (District 11), State Representative (District 19), Jackson County Executive, Prosecuting Attorney and Sheriff. Also on the ballots are Jackson County Committeemen and Committeewomen races and Kansas City Question 1, regarding the removal of vacant property along Roanoke Parkway and 4600 Madison from the city’s park system.

Kansas City Board Of Election Commissioners are preparing for the 2016 presidential election cycle by testing new procedures in hopes to get more people participated in voting. Voters can find their voting location online at www.kceb.org. All you have to do is enter your last name and birth date. Election cards have been sent out to the eligible voters, these cards have the time and location of the poll at which you can submit your vote.

It is very important when you go to vote that you bring identification forms with you, or you won’t be able to vote. These forms of ID include: Missouri or out-of-state driver’s license, Local, State or Federal government issued I.D. (employee, passport, social security card, military, etc.), Missouri higher education I.D. (college or university), Local election authority issued I.D. and a current bank statement, utility bill, government paycheck, regular paycheck or government document containing the voter’s name and current address. Photo identification is not needed to vote in Missouri.

There will be 142 polls and 388 precincts available. There are a total of 213,264 registered voters in Missouri and the costs of the elections are a total of $677,417.00.
