According to court documents, Moyer’s vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed on 12th street when it crested a hill, left the roadway and struck a utility pole. The vehicle flipped, landing in a nearby yard and ejecting the two boys, later identified as six-year-old Dustin Moyer and 10-year-old Brian Moyer, Jr., as well as the driver. The two boys died as a result of their injuries.

A subsequent police investigation revealed that Moyer’s vehicle was involved in a hit and run accident earlier near Truman and Hardesty. The driver of a white Cadillac and Moyer stopped briefly and agreed to exchange information but Moyer fled the scene. It is believed that Moyer was traveling between 70 to 100 miles per hour when it struck the utility pole. Neither of the boys were wearing seat restraints. The investigation is ongoing. Prosecutors have requested a $200,000 cash only bond.
