Dressing Up in Kansas City: Rites of Passage exhibition

Join the Kansas City Museum, 3218 Gladstone Blvd., for Dressing Up Kansas City: Rites of Passage. The exhibit is available by tours only Wednesday – Friday, on the hour beginning at 10 a.m. Admission is free. Through the Museum’s historic clothing and textile collection, it’ll feature artifacts illustrating the various customs of Kansas City’s shared heritage. Birth rituals, wedding traditions and mourning customs will all be highlighted with clothing that helped define each in their own time period. In addition, the exhibition will feature photographs of Kansas City residents all dressed up and documenting each rite of passage that came their way.

Holiday Concert at the Kansas City Museum

Join the Kansas City Museum from 7 – 9 p.m. for a holiday concert in Corinthian Hall with Beau Bledsoe and Elizabeth Suh Lane, delectable sweets, and holiday décor. Ms. Suh Lane is founder-Executive Artistic Director and violinist of the Bach Aria Soloists. Mr. Bledsoe is a professional and stylistically diverse guitarist ranging from Latin to classical chamber music. Spaces are limited. Pre-Registration is required. Join others at 10 a.m. at the North-East Public Library, 6000 Wilson Rd., Kansas City, Mo., to learn earn basic English skills: reading, writing and conversation. No fee or books required.

Game Night

Drop by the North East Library between 4 – 6 p.m. to play video games and board games. For kids and teens.

Fairy Princess at the Kansas City Museum

Join the Kansas City Museum every Saturday at 10 a.m. and Sunday at noon in December, except on Dec. 27 and 28, for the return of the Fairy Princess. Children will share their holiday wishes with the Fairy Princess while getting their picture taken. They’ll also have the opportunity to make holiday arts and crafts and listen to stories from local storytellers. Visit and picture with the Princess, arts and crafts, storytelling and treats, all for $10.

Computer Class

Learn what the Internet and your Internet browser can do. Class begins at 10:30 a.m. at the North-East Public Library, 6000 Wilson Rd.

Kid Craft Day: Ornaments

Join North-East Public Library from 2 – 4 p.m. to make ornaments. For kids ages 5-years-old and up.
