The Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who robbed the Northeast Payless shoe store on Sept. 28.

Described as a younger black male, the suspect was wearing a mask, a white tank top and dark pants when he entered the store, 5908 Wilson Ave., around 9:05 a.m. Sept. 28.

When he tried to open the cash register, an employee attempted to stop him. That’s when he pointed a gun at the employee, demanding cash. The suspect then took the money and fled the scene.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
