Be Heart Healthy Event
Join several local organizations at this free heart healthy event going on Thursday, February 28th from 10am to 3pm at 2301 Independence Avenue for free blood pressure screenings, free diabetes/cholesterol screenings, and heart healthy tips. There will also be a prize wheel. Stop by for a chance to win two $25 gift cards and an iFitness activity tracker!

Olive Center Playgroup and Open Play
Start at Zero is hosting a bilingual playgroup at 555 Olive on Thursday, February 28th from 10am to 12pm and open play from 1pm to 5:30 p.m. Bring your child to play and stop by the Success by 6 Center during this time. There will be toys, activities and fun!

Northeast Storytime
Join in at the Northeast branch for singing, dancing, stories and fun activities that activate your little one’s brain! Perfect for toddlers and preschoolers (Ages 0-5). Storytime will be held Friday, March 1st from 11am to 12pm at 6000 Wilson Rd in the Children’s Area.

Public City Budget Hearing
The City of Kansas City will be hosting a public city budget meeting to discuss the FY 2019-2020 budget. Join the conversation, learn more about the current proposed budget, and lend your voice. The meeting will be held Saturday, March 2nd at the Gregg/Klice Community Center (1600 John Buck O’Neil Way, Kansas City, MO 64108 ) from 9am to 11am.

 

Monday, March 4

Book-STEAM at Northeast Library
Part science project, part art class, part book club, this Monday evening activity is for kids who are interested in exploring anything and everything STEAM related, especially writing, reading, science, and drawing. Activities and book selections appropriate for 3rd-6th graders (8-12 year olds). This event will be held at the Northeast Public Library (6000 Wilson Rd.) from 6pm to 7pm.

Mardi Gras: Beads, Beans, and Booze!
The Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce (NEKCCoC) is proud to present its 9th annual MARDI GRAS: Beads, Beans & Booze! event on Fat Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at famous American Jazz Museum located at 1616 E. 18th Street, Kansas City, MIssouri 64108 in the Historic 18th & Vine Jazz District! This year’s celebration will be packed full of original Cajun food, a live Brass Band, and more!
