KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The victim in a Sunday afternoon shooting that led to a police stand off died overnight.
According to KCPD, officers were called to the area of Nicholson and Prospect on the afternoon of Sunday, April 16 at approximately 4:30 p.m. on a shooting call. Upon arrival, officers located the victim with a gunshot wound to the stomach. He was transported to an area hospital, and at the time was listed in serious but stable condition. The victim of the shooting is the brother of the suspect and died at an area hospital.
The shooting led to an armed standoff with the suspect, who remained inside the residence. At approximately 7:15 pm on Sunday the suspect surrendered to police without further incident. Charges are expected to be filed against the suspect – who remains in police custody – later today.
