Kansas City Police are investigating after two people were shot Sunday evening at a business on St. John Avenue in Northeast Kansas City.
Police were called to Northeast Market at 4422 St. John Avenue at around 5:13 p.m. and found two individuals suffering apparent gunshot wounds.
The victim inside the store had multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and is currently in life-threatening condition.
The victim on the sidewalk outside the business’ front door was shot in the leg and is in unknown condition.
Both individuals were taken to nearby hospitals and one is in life-threatening condition.
Witnesses described one white male and one black male who entered the business and started shooting before fleeing westbound on foot.
The Assault Squad responded to the scene and multiple shell casings were found.
Police are working to get suspect information and details on what led up to the shooting.
