Last week thousands of children walked out of their schoolrooms en masse to ostensibly honor the 17 victims of the Stoneman-Douglas High School shooting in Florida. Had this action been generic in nature, rooted in truth at the local level, this news dog would be all behind the walk-out. Sadly, that is not the case.
Larger forces are clearly at work and the nation’s youth, some would say our most vulnerable and innocent, are being exploited as political pawns in a larger end game that ultimately means more feel-good “gun legislation” that will be selectively enforced by prosecutors across the country.
Still, a number of unanswered questions remain, most notably how this movement went from a locally-centered protest to a national day of protest for high school students nationwide. The Dog knows it was never local to begin with, given the Left had already organized protests, printed signs and chartered buses for protestors, er, students to travel to the state capital. But the Dog has questions. Who paid for those buses to transport those Florida students to the state capital? Who designed and printed the hundreds of protest signs they picketed with day after day? How does a school district in NJ that doesn’t have the money to pay the heating bills in their schools suddenly come by more than $100,000 to charter buses for students to take to the capital? Things that certainly make you go hmmmmm.
Here’s the deal. If you’re not asking these questions, maybe you should be, instead of complacently taking the mainstream media as gospel truth. The Left is manipulating the message and using teenagers to carry that message for two primary reasons. One, teens are easily manipulated and succumb to peer pressure easily, and two, anyone questioning the message brought by said teens is instantly vilified for “attacking” children despite the fact they’re pawns in a bigger end game. Much like anyone who questions “common sense gun legislation” (the Left’s buzz-term for enacting legislation that further restricts the Second Amendment of the Constitution) is instantly vilified as a ultra-Right whackadoo or an ammo-sexual.
Here’s the bottom line. If you’re getting your news from social media platforms, late night talk shows or any of the three major left of center networks, MSNBC included, maybe it’s time you branched out a bit to seek additional sources. Instead of knee-jerking and firing up the social media meme machine, maybe sit back for a day or two and wait for the real truth to surface as it almost always does. There’s an old bumper sticker that was popular in the 1970s that consisted of two words. Question Authority. The dog would simply alter that to this: Question Everything.
