Several area organizations will be offering food items and meals to help the community celebrate Thanksgiving.
Eleos Ministries, located at Eleos Coffee House at 3401 Independence Ave., is taking applications through Nov. 18 for their turkey giveaway on Nov. 19. Meal boxes will include a frozen turkey and boxed or canned items to make a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Applicants need to apply in person at Eleos during regular business hours, Monday – Friday 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Salvation Army Eastside Corps will be hosting its annual Thanksgiving luncheon on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 3013 E. 9th St. from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Applications for Christmas will be accepted beginning Nov. 14. Applicants must apply in person and bring a state ID, proof of residence, and Social Security numbers for all family members. Application times will be Monday and Tuesday only, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m. through December 6.
Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center is sponsoring two locations for its annual Friendsgiving food giveaway. This drive-thru event begins at 4 and will continue until 6:30 p.m. or while supplies last. First come, first served at 825 Euclid and 2121 Summit.
Northeast High School Food Pantry will be providing Thanksgiving meal items for students and their families on Thursday, Nov. 17 and Friday, Nov. 18 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Recipients must currently be enrolled as a student at Northeast High.
