KANSAS CITY, Missouri — It was a slow ride today as Kansas City’s first streetcar was slowly towed out of the station house near Third and Cherry Streets at roughly 3 a.m. Friday morning, then wound its way around the downtown and City Market areas.
But slow and steady wins the race. During an almost eight-hour systems and track test, onlookers came out of businesses bordering the streetcar route to chat with construction workers who walked beside the streetcar looking for potential areas of weakness in during the test. More tests are scheduled for next week.
