Thousands of ghouls, witches, princesses and Disney characters once again took to the Scarritt Renaissance streets this past Sunday for Scare-It trick-or-treating.

Twenty-three houses, plus the Kansas City Museum and the Kansas City Fire Department, handed out 113,000 pieces of candy to the children along Gladstone Boulevard between the museum and Monroe Avenue. The average of two counts done on opposite ends of the street puts the estimated attendance at 7,400 people for the event.

Theme houses were common this year, with a Toy Story house, Wizard of Oz house and disco house. Additionally, there were blow-up bounce activities, five-a-side soccer and more activities adding to the trick-or-treating fun this year.
