With most weather prognosticators calling for significant snowfall, our city sent out a press release Sunday requesting that residents not park on the street so city crews could properly scrape the streets.
Although this news-pooch lauds the city for giving the appearance of trying to get it right, the press release begs the question — just where does the city expect us to put our vehicles if not on the street? With hundreds of miles of streets snaking through older neighborhoods (where off street parking is a premium), parking off the street is not an option for many. Parking on your yard or sidewalk gets you a ticket.
Next time, dispense the pleasantries and send out the darn plows.

Catholic Schools celebrate
It was another successful Catholic Schools Week this past week for Northeast schools Holy Cross and St. Stephen’s. The Northeast News office was lucky enough to be on the list to receive outreach from some fine kiddos from St. Stephen’s Academy, who dropped by to bring us some baked goodies. Thanks to Eliseo Medina, Viridiana Hernandez, Mayela Urizar and Anthony Moresan, pictured above.
The Historic Northeast is lucky to have two such fine Catholic schools with such great students, along with its excellent charter and public schools.
