Officials with Northeast View Apartments have indicated that rehab work is set to begin to repair damage caused by the Jan. 23 fire at 301-303 Garfield.
The fire that displaced almost 30 people caused an undetermined amount of damage and completely destroyed three of the 12 units in the building. According to Angela Bolden, who works in the Property Management office, the building is slated for repair.
“We’re working with our insurance company on exactly what needs to be done in order to put the building back into operation,” Bolden said.
Of the 12 units in the building, three were a total loss and must be completely rehabbed, three other units suffered only smoke damage and six remaining units should be ready for re-occupation within a week or two, Bolden said. Fire investigators have ruled the cause as accidental, undetermined.
