KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Kansas City residents will soon have an opportunity to give their thoughts on the qualities they want to see in the next superintendent of Kansas City Public Schools.

The KCPS has begun the process of seeking a new superintendent and are now ready to start getting input from the community its serves. The public is invited to a town hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 23, at Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts, 4747 Flora Ave. Child care and light refreshments will be provided.

Stakeholders can also provide their vision for the ideal superintendent by completing an online survey at the following websites www.surveymonkey.com/r/D6L8GKS or for Spanish residents www.surveymonkey.com/r/8PGNTBM. The survey will be available until 8 a.m. July 23.

The public meeting will be facilitated by Ray & Associates, a consulting firm hired by the KCPS Board of Directors to conduct the superintendent search. In addition to the public meeting and online survey, Ray & Associates will gathering input on July 22 and 23 with specific, invitation-only focus groups.
