One victim died and another was transported to the hospital in stable condition following a December 26 shooting in the Historic Northeast.

KCPD officers responded to the 600 block of Spruce – a block south of Independence Avenue – just after 10 p.m. Officers found both victims at the scene, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. A male was escorted to the hospital, but a while female of unknown age died as a result of her wounds.

The police department had not released any suspect information, nor the name of the deceased victim by the morning of Wednesday, December 27. Anyone with information regarding this shooting is asked to call the police or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477 with pertinent information.
