It’s been recognized as one of the top five concerts of 2011 by KCMetropolis and is back by popular demand at the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts.

“A Night of Tango” will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 27, in the Kauffman’s Helzberg Hall and will feature Historic Northeast resident Beau Bledsoe and other performers. Bledsoe has performed in nearly every U.S. state and has also performed around the world in places like Argentina, Germany, France, Turkey, among others. National Public Radio, Radio1 BBC and “Segovia a Yupanki” Radio Nacional Argentina regularly feature his music.

Guest soloists will include Héctor Del Curto from Argentina, renowned as one of the world’s leading bandoneónists who dedicates his life to performing tango music;  jazz/tango pianist Alon Yavnai from Israel, “the fiery artist who won first place in the ’96 Great American Jazz Piano Competition”; and local bass talent Jeff Harshbarger, voted Best Bassist by Pitch Magazine in 2007.

The guest musicians will join critically acclaimed Bach Aria Soloists Elizabeth Suh Lane, violinist-Artistic Director, and Beau Bledsoe, guitarist. The group will perform a sizzling Piazzolla tribute including quintessential masterworks: Adios Nonino, Four Seasons, Michelangelo and Libertango.

“We are thrilled to bring the legendary Héctor Del Curto back to Kansas City. All of the musicians are consummate artists and we are excited to present our homage to Piazzolla’s sumptuous music in Helzberg Hall,” said Elizabeth Suh Lane, artistic director-founder of Bach Aria Soloists.
