Northeast News
July 20, 2016
The newsdog is taking a week off from the heightened political and racial strife that is putting a black eye, no pun intended, on our once great nation. Instead, this week we’re going to say thank you for continuing to read our fine publication. Over the last week or so, thanks to our loyal readers and neighborhood residents, our Facebook page exceeded 5,000 likes. Not too shabby for an independently owned weekly community news source.
We’ve ramped up our coverage of local events over the last few months and hired a top shelf Managing Editor in Paul Thompson, who literally lives and breathes his craft. The newsdog is pleased as punch to have him on board, live tweeting and updating our news page throughout the day.
We’d like to brag a bit this week, too, about news from the Missouri Press Association. The Northeast News has once again been recognized for excellence in journalism by our peers in the newspaper industry. We’re not at liberty to say specifically what we garnered in the way of awards, but suffice it to say, we’re right proud of the outstanding work done by everyone on our team here at the House of News. As long as you folks keep reading and there’s news to report here in our community, we’ll do our best to be there to cover all the events we can.
