KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Kansas City firefighters and water rescue crews are searching for a man in the Missouri River after falling from the Heart of America bridge.
James Garrett, media contact for the KCFD, said the fire department got the call around 2:45 p.m., for a male who fell into the bridge. At the moment, he said crews have not been able to locate the man and was not sure whether he survived the plunge. Crews are in the process of conducting a water search and rescue.
“Crews are in the water so there is no need to shut down the bridge,” Garrett said adding boats and men have been placed along the river in hopes of finding the man.
More information will be added once it becomes available.
