Police were called around 8 p.m. June 22 to the area near Roberts and Bales on the call of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a black male in his twenties lying on the sidewalk.
He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
About 20 minutes later, another victim showed up at an area hospital with a gunshot wound, indicating he was in the same area as the homicide victim when he was struck by a bullet. He is listed in fair condition.
Witnesses indicated that immediately after the shooting a red Chevrolet Camaro fled the scene.
The Roberts and Bales area in the Scarritt Renaissance Neighborhood has long been a haven for criminal activity.
