Police are asking for the community’s help in the search for the suspect in a Thursday night shooting in Northeast.

Officers responded to the 5200 block of Norledge Avenue just before 10:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, on a reported shooting.

Officers gathered information from witnesses of the residence that had heard gunshots before observing a male and female shot inside their residence.

Witnesses said they believe the suspect of the shooting is an adult male who had been staying with them at the residence.

The suspect has now been identified as Nasario Martinez-Maciel, a 23-year-old Hispanic male.

Martinez-Maciel is wanted for second degree murder. He was last known to be in Kansas City, Kan. and occupying a tan vehicle with no license plates.

According to witnesses, the suspect fled the scene in a 1997 Toyota Camry 4-door with a sunroof, a different passenger wheel, tinted windows, discoloration on the driver’s side rear bumper and a different color front driver’s side quarter panel.

It is still unknown to police what the relationship is between the individuals residing at the location at this time. 

The adult male was transported to an area hospital and was pronounced dead there. The adult female sustained non-life threatening injuries and is currently being treated at a local hospital.

Friday morning, detectives continued to speak with witnesses to gather more information and determine what led up to this fatal shooting. Crime scene investigators processed the scene for any additional evidence.

Police warn that the suspect and occupants of the vehicle should be considered armed and dangerous.
