KANSAS CITY, Missouri — On Tuesday, Kansas City, Mo., residents will be asked to head to area polling places to vote. The 213,018 registered voters, at least.
But do you know where to go or what to do if you’re filing an absentee ballot? In-person absentee voting at the Kansas City Election Board’s Union Station office, 30 W. Pershing Road, runs through 5 p.m. tomorrow. All mail-in absentee voting must be received by the election board no later than 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 8.
If you plan to head to the polls, don’t forget your new voter identification card. Red, white and blue voter identification cards were mailed to all registered voters in Kansas City this past March. The card contains the voter’s name and address, voter identification number, polling location, voting districts, ward and precinct number, and registration date. The card is one of the acceptable forms of identification at the polls.
Along with the voter identification card, other acceptable forms of identification include driver’s license, government issued identification, Missouri higher education identification, local election authority issued identification or a current bank statement, utility bill, paycheck or government document containing the voter’s name and current address.
