Kudos once again to the Indian Mound neighborhood showing how active residents and neighborhood associations can change the landscape of a community almost overnight.
Neighbors around the Denver and Lyons area had fallen victim to some ne’er-do-well renters who recently moved in to a house and began throwing up gang tags on trees, utility poles and stop sighs. The Neighborhood Association acted rapidly and abated all of the offending tags.
“There’s safety in numbers,” said IMNA Prez Katie Greer. A slew of volunteers showed up en masse on Sunday and sent a strong message to said ne’er-do-wells.Continued vigilance will be needed by neighbors but this situation is off to a good start at total abatement.
