KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The Kansas City Election Board (KCEB) has issued a reminder that area voters who qualify for absentee voting can now do so at three satellite locations throughout the city.
The absentee satellite locations are at Center High School (87th St. and Holmes Rd.), Brush Creek Community Center (3801 Cleaver II Blvd.), and Hillcrest Community Center (10401 Hillcrest Rd.). Satellite voting is available from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, and 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Whole Person (3710 Main) will also be open for electronic-only absentee voting from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday until the election. All absentee voting locations are equipped with Direct Recording Electronic touch screen machines for voters with disabilities.
Absentee voting is also being conducted at the Kansas City Election Board Absentee Office located in Union Station (30 W. Pershing Rd.) Suite 750. That office will be open for absentee voting Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Friday’s from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., and on Saturday’s from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. On Saturday, November 5, absentee voting will be conducted at the office from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
Registered Missouri voters can qualify to vote absentee if they meet at least one of the following requirements: 1) they will be absent from their voting jurisdiction on Election Day; 2) they are incapacitated due to illness or physical disability, or they are caring for someone who is incapacitated; 3) they are restricted from voting on Election Day due to their religious beliefs; 4) they are employed by an election authority; 5) they are incarcerated, but maintain qualifications to vote; or 6) they are certified participants in the Missouri Safe at Home program.
For those intending to send in a mail-in absentee ballot, an application must be filled out and turned in to the Election Board no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2. Those applications can be found at kceb.org, or by calling the Election Board’s Absentee Voting Office at 816-842-4820, ext. 224. Mail-in absentee ballots must be received by the Election Board no later than 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8.
