KANSAS CITY, Missouri – A new exhibit at the Kansas City Museum (3218 Gladstone Blvd.) will explore the history of the Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department.
The museum will debut the exhibit, entitled In the Line of Duty: a History of the Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department from 1868-1968 on Saturday, October 15. An exploration of the KCFD’s first 100 years of operation, the exhibit will highlight the stories of courage and dedication that comprise the heritage and development of the department.
The exhibit represents a collaboration between the Kansas City Museum and the Kansas City Fire Historical Society (KCFHS). It will feature historical objects, archival material, and the exhibition’s main attraction: a restored 1927 Ahrens Fox fire truck (provided by the KCFHS).
In the Line of Duty will be displayed at the Kansas City Museum until March 25, 2017. Self-guided exhibition tours are held from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. from Wednesday through Saturday. For more information, visit kansascitymuseum.org.
