Kansas City wants your input. Residents of Kansas City are invited to attend the upcoming Public Improvements Advisory Committee (PIAC) citywide hearings this month to voice their ideas.
PIAC will use information gathered from the hearings to make recommendations to the City of Kansas City Council about projects that should be funded for fiscal year 2012-2013. A one-cent sales tax for public improvements will provide funding for the recommended projects.
Hearing dates and locations are:
•Friday, Aug. 19
9 a.m. to noon @ City Hall Committee Room (10th floor), 414 E. 12th St.
•Tuesday, Aug. 23
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. @ The Gem Theatre, 1616 E. 18th St.
•Wednesday, Aug. 24
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. @ Hillcrest Community Center, 10401 Hillcrest Rd.
•Thursday, Aug. 25
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. @ Northland Cathedral, 101 NW 99th St.
Residents may also make recommendations by completing a project request form, which will be available at the hearings or at the Capital Improvements Program at City Hall, 18th floor, 414 E. 12th St. Another option is to fill out a form online at www.kcmo.org/cpd. Deadline to submit a request form is Wednesday, Aug. 31.
