To the Editor:
Let me be the first to agree with bunny concerning overhauling the KCMO Water Department. There are far too many folks in city management not anywhere near a truck who never get their boots dirty or turn a hydrant, making FAR more than the so-called “Union Scale” of our city workers.
The City of KCMO pays their workers a “liveable” wage at best until a worker has been there at least 10 years.
I worked for the City of KCMO in 2004. I made a whopping $9.97 per hour. “Union Scale?” Maybe for the “leadership” at the Local 500.
Let’s get off our city workers’ butts and turn our attention to the management that would send out seven workers on a two to three man job.
Thank you men and women of all of our City Departments for showing up to work. It’s not your fault your boss doesn’t have anything better for you to do.
