Just after 4 p.m. today, Kansas City Missouri police officers were called to the intersection of 12th and Hardesty on a reported shooting. Upon arrival officers found the body of an adult female victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

EMS did respond to the scene unfortunately, the victim was declared deceased at the scene. The victim in this case has been identified as 38-year-old Ashley Speer.

Detectives and crime scene Personnel are on the scene canvassing the area for Witnesses and checking for video cameras that may have caught something. No suspect information is available at this time.
