Just after 1am this morning KCPD officers were called to the area of Independence Avenue and Manchester in regard to a collision involving a bicyclist on the Independence Ave. Bridge near the old Armco Steel plant.

Investigation determined that the victim had been riding in the outside eastbound lane when he was struck by a passing vehicle.

The vehicle then left the scene eastbound. The victim, an adult male, was transported to an area hospital and most recently listed in critical condition.
