Harold Ray Edwards Sr., 81, of Independence, Mo., passed away December 10, 2021. He was born June 26, 1940 in Heflin, Cleburne County, Alabama.

Harold was preceded in death by his mother, Reba Edwards; father, Cecil Edwards; a baby brother; and sister, Sarah Noland. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Edwards; brother, Jackie Edwards; sister, Jane Medforth; three sons: Harold Ray Edwards Jr. (Dana), Stephen Frank Edwards (Karla), and Jackie Wayne Edwards; grandson, Forrest Hagen (Amy); granddaughter, Hannah Edwards; and three great grandsons.

He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in both Pakistan and Kincheloe Air Force Base in Michigan. On September 29, 1962 he married Phyllis Jean McLaughlin and they were married a little over 59 years.

Harold was a journeyman plumber with Local #8 for over 55 years. He enjoyed reading and watching Westerns, country music, going for drives in the country, and spending time with his family, friends, and especially grandchildren.
