KANSAS CITY, Missouri — The food selection in the River Market can be intimidating. Luckily, you can sample a little bit of everything later this month.
The City Market presents Grub Crawl – like a pub crawl only with food – from 6 – 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19. Grub Crawl passport holders will experience a culinary adventure in the historic River Market. Each stop on the Grub Crawl walking tour will offer a taste or small plate from the following participating restaurants:
Babycakes
Beignet
Blue Nile
BoLings
City Market Coffee House
Dragonfly Tea Zone
Hella BBQ
Minsky’s Pizza
Opera House
Taste of Brazil
The Bite
Tikka House
Winslow’s Barbeque
Between bites, Grub Crawlers can enjoy live music from local performers stationed along the route. Tickets are $25 and available online at grubcrawl2015.bpt.me. Tickets includes a Grub Crawl t-shirt. Ticket holders may check in at the box office under the City Market arch at Fifth and Walnut Streets beginning at 5:30 p.m. on the day of the event. Passports will be stamped at each participating restaurant, and completed passports turned in by 9 p.m. are entered into a prize drawing. Winners will be notified by phone or email during the following week.
Proceeds from the Grub Crawl benefit Friends of the City Market, [FOCM] a 501c3 organization developed to promote awareness of the City Market, its history, merchants, farmers’ market, museum and special events, to increase the economical success of the property and to create a community environment with a unique neighborhood feel.
