This Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., the Della Lamb Center, in partnership with Kansas City University and Truman Medical Center, will be offering free COVID-19 testing here in the Historic Northeast community.
Testing will be conducted in a mobile clinic set up at 1615 Independence Avenue, on the southwest corner of Independence Avenue and Highland Avenue.
This clinic provides greater access to testing for low-income Kansas Citians as well as generates concrete data to better understand the severity of COVID-19 within Kansas City.
According to Ryan Hudnall, Della Lamb’s executive director, testing will be provided for those who have shown one or more symptoms of COVID-19.
Pre-registration for testing is encouraged by calling 816-404-2273. Walk-ups will also be screened and tested.
The testing is completed through a nose swab. Only a valid ID and phone number are required to be tested (as results will be communicated via phone the following week).
Translators will be provided as well for those who speak Spanish, French, Arabic and Somali.
