Hector Solorio is the owner of Hector’s Auto Service at 9th & Prospect and has worked in Historic Northeast for over twelve years. 

His favorite part of living and working in the community, he said, is the closeness of the Latino community in Northeast.

“I love my community. I love my people and being close to my Latino people.” 

When he’s not wrenching on cars at the shop, Solorio volunteers his time for the soccer club he founded, 816 SFC Futbol Club, a youth soccer organization that stresses teamwork, family, hard work and passion. 

816 SFC practices regularly in a vacant lot at 9th and Prospect.

All of Solorio’s children grew up in the club, receiving college scholarships in the process. Solorio encourages kids to get involved in sports and stay in school.
